2024 Alumni Dinner

After a years-long hiatus—marked by a global pandemic, the exit of the previous board of directors, and a new, inexperienced team stepping in—the 2024 Fresno High School All-Years Alumni Dinner finally returned, much to the delight of all who attended. This year, the event was held in the iconic Fresno High School gymnasium, bringing together alumni from across the decades in a night to remember.

While Fresno's May weather is typically mild, nature threw a curveball, delivering one of the heaviest rainstorms in recent memory. The originally planned outdoor gathering was no longer an option.

Enter Angelica Figueroa, the event’s swift-thinking coordinator. With just days to go, she secured the gymnasium for the dinner and arranged an off-site location for the pre-dinner beer and wine service—thanks to the generosity of Ricardo Ramirez, owner of the Academia de Artes Flamenco Dance Studio, located conveniently across the street. His studio became the perfect spot to kick off the evening.

Despite the challenges, over 100 alumni—from the 1950s to the present day—made it out to celebrate. El Dorado Catering served up a delicious Mexican cuisine, perfectly themed for the Cinco de Mayo weekend, adding a festive touch to the occasion. Students from the Fresno High Marching Band served the tables with smiles and courteousness, giving us all hope for the future generation!

The night was filled with laughter, memories, and fantastic entertainment provided by the FHS Band and color guard. In addition, one of the alumni was even coaxed into conducting the band as they performed the fight song, and could still keep time, rekindling school spirit in a big way.

As the evening wound down and the rain finally let up, attendees left with raffle prizes in hand, smiles on their faces, and fond memories of reconnecting with old friends. Mark your calendars—this unforgettable tradition continues on May 3, 2025!
